We are currently recruiting for a high calibre Head of Advocacy and Policy – Learn Breakthrough to lead on the delivery of our Education advocacy and policy, and help ensure our Ambition for 2030 - that all children will have access to a good basic quality education.

As our Head of Advocacy and Policy you will provide vision and leadership for Education advocacy and policy efforts. You will forge and develop important linkages with our teams leading on child rights, child protection, child survival and child poverty. You will also work with senior technical staff right across Save the Children, elevating the cohesion and consistency of advocacy and programme work that supports Education e.g. early learning and education in emergencies.

You will represent Save the Children within key external fora, including global policy dialogues in the United Nations etc. You will hold a responsibility to ensure our advocacy efforts are coordinated and impactful, promote and apply a local to global approach, champion country-led efforts, and set milestones that organisation will hold itself accountable to.

Save the Children is 100 years old this year, and this role will help us place child rights at the centre of our work, and strive to elevate our impact on children, to allow them to survive, learn and be protected. In order to be successful, you will bring/have:
Significant advocacy and policy experience within the field of education, and a proven track record in successfully leading the development and implementation of advocacy strategies on an international level in a large INGO.

Demonstrable track record in policy development and influencing at global level, regional level and/or national level.
Long-term experience and proven track record in multilateral advocacy at global and/or regional level and successful advocacy at country level on child-related issues.

Demonstrated expertise in key education thematic areas e.g. early learning,
Extensive knowledge of international development, humanitarian and child rights actors and key stakeholders.
Sound knowledge of global development issues/trends and the current international education discourse
Experience of working in developing countries and/or humanitarian crises.

Excellent mentoring and capacity-building skills, applicable across different countries and cultures and at the international level.
The ability to travel internationally (up to 25%)
