VACANCIES
Tanga Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (Tanga UWASA) is competitively best utility in the Tanzanian Water Sector, supplying clean and safe water and provides sewerage services in Tanga City. The Authority with the ISO 9001:2015 certification in quality management systems, is hereby seeking for a relevant qualified and highly motivated persons to fill the following vacancies available in her manning level for unspecified terms of employment.

Title of position: Supplies Assistant II (One Position)

Scope of the position:
The holder of this position is responsible for maintaining the Authority’s stores. The Supplies Assistant will be responsible for daily receiving and issuing of stores materials, reconciling stocks, keeping records and ensuring the security of the stores.

Working relationships: Reports to: Assistant Supplies Officer

Key duties and responsibilities:
  1. To Receive request from user department;
  2. Issuing of stock items as per request;
  3. To report on available stock balance daily;
  4. To make sure that all storehouses are neat and clean;
  5. To reconcile physical stock balance against balance shown in the bin card;
  6. To report on security and safety of store houses;
  7. Make sure all materials are properly arranged according to their nature;
  8. To make proper arrangement of document in their respective files;
  9. To raise gate pass for all items leaving the Authority;
  10. Comply with ISO requirements on the daily activities. 11. Any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:

The applicant of this position must have the following:
  1. Form IVNI with Diploma in Materials Management/Supplies/professional Level 11 & 111 or any other relevant qualifications.
  2. Must be computer literate.
  3. Experience of at least one year working in a recognized Institution.
Title of position: Assistant Public Relations Officer II (one Position)

Scope of the position: The job holder of this position advises the Public Relations officer on all matters pertaining to the image of the Authority and on all issues which might affect the Authority and its public standing. He/ she will be responsible for building customers' lasting relationship and maintaining sound image of the Authority.

Working relationships: Reports to: the Public Relations Officer.

Key duties and responsibilities:
  1. Assists the Public Relations Officer to take measures to promote the standing of the Authority and to develop a positive image amongst members of the public in particular the key opinion leaders and stakeholders:
  2. In consultation with Public Relations Officer, he/she is responsible for maintaining close liaison with members of the press to ensure that the press is aware of the Authority's services and has a positive attitude towards the Authority;
  3. Helps the departments and other sections/units of the Authority in publicizing their work and ensuring that a proper image of the Authority is projected at all times;
  4. Assists the Public Relations officer to maintain a library containing materials on various events that have historical significance to the Authority;
  5. Prepares periodic reports outlining current trends in the stature of the Authority vis-a-vis its key stakeholders and the results of the public relations activities as directed by the Public Relations Officer;
  6. Arranging facilitation of receiving official visitors and accompanying them to the Authority's offices and premises;
  7. Comply with ISO requirements on the daily activities. 8. Any other related duty as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
The applicant of this position must have the following:
  1. Form V/VI Certificate with Diploma in Mass Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing/Business Management.
  2. Must be computer literate.
  3. Experience of at least one year working in recognized Institutions.
Remuneration: All the posts carry attractive remuneration packages respectively, according to the Authority's newly reviewed market focused pay scheme and other entitlements.
