Kilombero Sugar Company, the largest producer of sugar in the country operating cohesively with Extra Neutral Alcohol Distillery (IDTL) is seeking to recruit a dynamic and result oriented person to fill a vacancy of Kilombero Community Charitable Trust Manager (KCCT Manager) in the Company.
Kilombero Community Charitable Trust is a non-governmental organization dedicated to serving the community surrounding Kilombero Sugar Company, a population of over 100,000 people. KCCT focuses on economic and social development activities, specifically poverty alleviation and rural and agricultural development, driven by investment in public-private partnerships that contribute to sustainable development. KCCT was initially registered as Kilombero Community Trust in 2003, which was established through a joint initiative between Kilombero Sugar Company Ltd. and Unitrans Tanzania. The Trust was re-registered as KCCT in 2012, as a non-governmental, non-profit organization established to serve the economic and social needs of the Kilombero community, including reducing poverty and economic vulnerability in poor rural households in Kilombero.
This is a largely autonomous position and requires a serious self-motivated individual. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and sustaining existing projects and activities, whilst growing and developing the Trust portfolio.
Qualifications and competencies required:
The candidate should have at minimum a Bachelor's degree in development or a related field
At least 3 years' experience in rural and community development or similar field.
Proven collaborative management skills in a project environment.
Proven ability to address issues or difficulties in the management and implementation of projects.
Experience developing project proposals (Technical and Financial).
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Sound negotiation skills.
Experience working in a cross cultural environment.
Tasks:
Administrative Management - in partnership with the Finance Department of KSCL, the Trust Manager will be responsible for the budgets and accounting of KCCT and providing regular reports to the Board of Trustees.
Management of Existing Projects - the Trust Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day project management of the existing tr projects.
Promotion of KCCT and its Activities - the Trust Manager will represent KCCT to Government, International Agencies, Funding and other partners, potential donors and other bodies including civil society relationships with the above stakeholders and industry partners to keep them informed and updated of project activities and results and raise awareness of KCCT locally, nationally and internationally.
Fundraising - the Trust Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of a marketing and fundraising strategy. By targeting in country and external funding initiatives he/she will raise the profile of KCCT and awareness of the needs of the Kilombero communities, and identify opportunities to secure funds to support its development projects and activities, with primary focus on the Outgrower Vision. The role also requires reliable and regular reporting to ensure continued funding from existing partners.
Stakeholder/Community Liaison - the Trust Manager will be responsible to maintain and improve existing stakeholder relationships particularly with surrounding outgrower communities to fully understand the needs and to ensure ownership of the projects and results.
Project Development- in partnership with stakeholder parties, the Trust Manager will be required to identify, develop and implement new project proposals to support the development of the surrounding communities, again with primary focus on the Outgrower Vision
Terms of Service.
The successful candidate will be reporting to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees whilst operating closely with the KSCL Outgrower Services Department on a daily basis and be engaged on Three (3) years contract.
