Senior Manager; Issuing Business

Job Purpose

Measure and evaluate Card Business performance and advise on the best approach to maximize profit and oversee card production & distribution process to branches.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide outstanding customer service experience to Card Business customers.

Grow Issuing Card Portfolio efficiently with its associated profit and loss account.

Reduce the number of cardholder dispute by making sure appropriate products are performing well.



Prepare monthly card business reports showing trends and performance and generate management information systems reports on system performance, designing different performance reports and making them available for use in decision making.

Perform product lifecycle management; periodic monitoring of product performance in the market and implement necessary product improvements.

Monitor performance of card business and assist branches to manage ATM and POS for card fraud prevention.

Perform card business risk review on all card business activities and processes and ensure that proper controls and mitigation to the identified risks are put in place.

Manage card production process and services teams to ensure branches, call centre and customers are supported in an efficient and timely manner to a high standard.

Manage information flows to and from other areas of the bank to resolve Customer queries related to Card Business system misbehaviors/outages and make the necessary follow up to ensure the service is restored, including escalation to high authorities.

Establish activities and process checklist for the entire card business unit and make the necessary follow up to ensure all activities are performed as indicated in the procedure and operational manuals.

Participate in development of underlying processes, systems and reports to enable continuing improvement in efficiency and excellence of card production process while complying to VISA, MasterCard and NMB regulations and policies.

Participate in formulation of Card Business strategy in achieving Bank’s goals and translate it for team members to understand their role in achieving the long term objective as set out.

Ensure all reports are prepared and submitted to NMB Management team, Visa and MasterCard on time as per guidelines provided by QOC and QMR.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Head Card Business

Disseminate knowledge on card product and act as central point for feedback collection to ensure excellent service delivery to customers.

Qualifications and Experience

University Degree/Advanced Diploma in Business Administration, Banking or Information Technology.

7 years of banking experience with at least 5 years’ in Card Business.

Card business knowledge from VISA, MasterCard or other international card schemes.

Experience in managing teams and delegating assignments.

Senior Manager; Cards Operations and Finance

Job Purpose

Develop strategies to drive the cards operations and finance section; measure and evaluate the performance of different products of cards on daily basis.

Coordinate Operations, Finance, Risk, Fraud, chargeback and Compliance section of the Cards Business for timely & efficient processing of cards transactions to ensure appropriate follow-up and reporting according to NMB risk and compliance policy guidelines.

Main Responsibilities:

Review processes and systems to ensure improvements in products and customer service

Manage card business risk profile, compliance level, frauds and chargebacks.

Ensure that high quality products and services are delivered to bank customers

Mitigate any losses through settlement files & Account Reconciliation.

Handle day to day activities of the section according to NMB standards, requirements, guidelines and budget.

Contribute in improving the internal processes of the section to maximize efficiency and productivity.

Ensure appropriate and timely handling of queries from Cards associations, cardholders and SBU’s while respecting NMB risk and compliance policy rules.

Monitor closely different general ledgers & impersonal accounts while initiating appropriate corrective actions.

Develop metrics to monitor financial performance of the card business.

Ascertain that the accounts are reconciled within agreed deadlines and escalate any unusual issues that require higher level of authority.

Assist other sections of the SBU with queries and adhoc projects.

Ensure that requests/complaints are handled within agreed timeframe and adhere to customer service standards.

Manage foreign currencies dealings with the support from treasury.

Optimal use of available resources, consolidate the team by empowering, motivating & managing performance of employees.

Ensure adherence to all relevant legislations, codes, rules, regulations, procedures and standards of best working practice.

Qualifications and Experience
