Role overview
The Tanzania Local Enterprise Development (T-LED) project supports local small and medium-size enterprises (SMEs) to overcome existing barriers, with particular attention paid to the additional challenges faced by female-headed SMEs, in accessing growth markets in the associated value chains of the agribusiness and extractive sectors, while also enhancing the quality and coordination of market-driven business development services. 
The project seeks not only to reduce economic leakage and keep more of the value chain and income generation within Tanzania, but also to specifically ensure that more women and men may benefit from these growth markets. 

Objective of the Assignment 
VSO Tanzania seeks a consultant to support its work in updating in English and Swahili two booklets: 1) “Key Legislative Issues Related to Agribusiness/Mwongozo Muhimu wa Masuala ya Kisheria Kuhusu Kilimo Biashara” and 2) Kusibuzz; both of which will guide SMEs to use and understand the regulations of running an agribusiness in Tanzania and provide an overall understanding of their regional business environment. 

Scope of work 
The consultant will be responsible for collecting information from relevant legal and governmental business authorities and other sources, including, but not limited to TRA, TBS, BRELLA, etc. The consultant will collate the content of the booklets to ensure relevance to T-LED’s range of SMEs across the regions of Lindi, Mtwara, Mwanza, and Iringa. The consultant will also work closely with T-LED’s gender officer to create a gender focused section of Kusibuzz. 
The booklets will be shared with SMEs, T-LED partners, and stakeholders.

Skills, qualifications and experience required
The consultant shall be registered to work in Tanzania and shall have: 
Proven work experience in research 
Knowledge of data analysis and synsethising information simply for a specific target audience 
Technical knowledge and experience in publishing, design and layouts 
Excellent organisational and coordination skills 
Knowledge of SMEs context, landscape and legal/financial challenges in Tanzania 
Wide network of contacts in the government, financial, entrepreneurial, legal, and regulatory fields of Tanzania 

The consultant will need to demonstrate the following: 
Excellent writing skills in English and Swahili 
Concentration, accuracy and great attention to detail 
Self-motivated and innovative 
Good organizational and time-management skills 
Ability to respect and meet deadlines
