Title: IT Technician

REPORTS TO: ICT Director Description

The IT technician maintains the school's IT systems and equipment and supports the users of the systems & equipment. He/ She also maintains hardware/software inventory and other systems.

The IT Technician reports to the ICT Director.


»At least a diploma in IT and/or systems/network certifications or related course.
Broad knowledge and understanding of maintenance, including imaging, trouble-shooting and deployment
Good knowledge of using Windows/Macintosh Cross-platform and understanding of Cross-platform issues & solution
At least 2 years' experience in managing hardware and software systems in medium or large size organizations 
Experience in managing helpdesk and customer support.

Additional Requirements

Fluent English and Kiswahili speaker/reader/writer
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
Ability to work independently in an organized manner, conscious of time.
Strong analytical skills.
A person with strong Integrity and honesty
Child protection - a full criminal record and reference check will be required to ascertain candidates’ ability to work in a school.
Be able to demonstrate excellent customer service abilities - an understanding of user needs and the ability to satisfy them in a timely, courteous manner.
