National Coordinator at The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (llTA)

The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (llTA) on behalf of the International
Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) invites applications for the position of National
Coordinator. The National Coordinator will be the ATONU project focal person, linking ILRI,
FANRPAN, the Tanzania Livestock Research Institute (TLRI) and, the country implementing
partner (GIP)

Background: ILRI works to enhance the roles livestock play in pathways out of poverty in
developing countries. ILRI is a member of the CGIAR Consortium www.cgiar.org a global
research partnership of 15 centers working with many partners for a food-secure future. ILRI
has two main campuses in East Africa and other hubs in East, West and Southern Africa and
South, Southeast and East Asia. www.ilri.org

Duty Station: This is a Nationally Recruited Position and the incumbent will be based in
Dares Salaam , Tanzania.
Key requirements:
The National Coordinator will be the ATONU Project focal person, linking ILRI, FANRPAN,
the Tanzanian Livestock Research Institute (TLRI) and, the country implementing partner
(CIP).

• He/she will be responsible for coordinating relationships and inputs from the three partner
institutions. Leading the planning and coordination of all technical and administrative
activities of ATONU activities at country level and overseeing the jmplementation,
• Monitoring and reporting of a comprehensive set of nutrition-sensitive interventions in
ACGG project.

Key requirements/Experience:
• A Master degree in Human Nutrition , public health, community development or other
related field, with specific experience in project management and implementation of social
behavior change communication. .
• Minimum of five years of experience working in development and/or community-based
nutrition programs with multiple and diverse partnerships preferred.
• Experience in teamwork and people management skills in a multicultural environment
• Excellent communications skills including verbal, written English and presentation skills;
• Excellent inter-personal skills, leadership skills and a proven networker
General information:
The initial contract for the position is two years with possibility of renewal. This is a nationally
recruited position and llTA offers a competitive remuneration package.
