18 Employment Opportunities at Maendeleo Bank Plc

Maendeleo Bank Plc commenced operations in September 2013 as a Regional Bank with its Headquarters at Luther House, Sokoine Drive - Dar es Salaam. It is the first bank in Tanzania to be registered in Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) from its inception through Enterprise Growth Market (EGM) window. In its efforts to expand and strengthen its operations, the Bank wishes to recruit self motivated, result oriented and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

1. BRANCH MANAGER 2 Positions
Job Summary: Reporting to Operations and IT Manager, the position will be responsible for managing branch on daily basis to deliver business growth, excellent customer service, operational compliance, staff performance and development:  
Key Accountabilities  

1. Take leading role in mobilizing deposits and growing income through recruitment of customers. 

2.Responsible for credit processing and portfolio quality management at the branch. 

3. Create and analyze management intomiation system reports 

4. Preparing budget and projections for the branch business. 

5. Makes certain that all branch operations are performed in accordance with established Bank policies and procedures, either directly or through appropriate supervisor, e.g. back office balancing, control of vautt cash, etc. make recommendations for changeslimprovements as appropriate. 

6. Support staff skills development with a foctis on strong customer relationship 

7. Being attentive to the needs and expectations of customers and opportunities to Improve service quality thus ensuring that their needs are fulfilled and that appropriate resources are performing the required follow up. 

8. Review and ensure application of lending policies, procedures and internal controls on a regular basis and submit appropriate improvement plans and strategies for review and approval. 

9. Perform any other duties. 

Minimum Qualifications and Expetience Required: 

Holder of a University Degree in a business related field from a recognized institution, the person should have a minimum of 5 years proven experience in branch and operations management, 2 of which must be at a senior branch level and should be able to demonstrate strong leadership skills, passion and commitment to quality service performance, Excellent organizational, planning and analytical skills and ability to work well under pressure with strict deadlines and limited supervision.

2. ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER 1 Position 
Job Summary: Reporting to Branch Manager, the role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and accounting duties in the branch. Principally s/he manages operations and business development including profit and productivity accounts, ATM and Inter bank accounts, Also s/he is entrusted to ensuring of customer relations prevails within the branch.

Key Accountabilities: 

1. Custodian of Bank's operation procedures and processes ensuring that they are held by branch departments and are applied in day to day transactions: these includes: Operations Manual, Circulars, Policy and Procedures etc. 

2. Ensure that branch vouchers/cheques are scrutinized and signed in accordance with approved limits. 

3. Ensure Due diligence is carried out in line with AML law and that call back confirmations are done in according to procedure and particularly in respect of high value transactions, 

4. Ensure control in the use of sensitive items/documents including branch stamps, controlled stationeries, bank keys, etc. 

5. Accountable for reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepare the monthly reconciliation reports. 

6. Ensure that all branch system reports are checked and signed off as required. 

7. Supervise staff, activities of the branch and training of staff on controls and processes compliance. 

8. Carry out pre-audit to ensure ongoing adherence with compliance procedures. Responsible for rectification of all Audit and BOT queries within the acceptable time. 

9. Ensure that back office posting Is done appropriately and timely. 

10. To ensure that the checking of daily posting of General Ledger entries are properly authorized, has got details and are posted to correct accounts. 

11. To enhance revenue by collecting fees and commissions promptly so that to achieve annual targets as indicated in the budget. 

12. To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.  

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Holder of Business related Degree with at least 4 years' experience in the field. Experiences in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System will an added advantage.

3. CUSTOMER ADVISOR: (Two positions)
Job Summary: 
The Customer Advisor will be responsible for ensuring all day-to-day customer queries and their requests are attended professionally and build the bank image at a higher standard. 

Key Accountabilities: 

1. To attend to customer enquiries promptly and courteously. 

2. To open new customer accounts by following approved account opening procedures. 

3. To process customer ATM Card requisitions and custodianship by following the procedures manual. 

4. To order and issue cheque books to the right customers following the laid down process. 

5. To scrutinize customer cheques, and other customer instruments presented for payment in order to ascertain their accuracy and authenticity before payment authorization / processing for clearing. 

6. To process inward and outward cheques clearance from other branches and other banks.  

7. Scanning of Accounts and preparing Customers statements 

8. To carry any out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervise 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Holder of Business related Degree with at least 1 year experience in the field. Experience in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System and knowledge of all bank products will be an added advantage.

4. BANK TELLER (Five Positions)

Job Summary: 
The Teller will be responsible for ensuring customer deposit and withdraws operations are done efficiently with proper customer identification while maintaining the good and quality customer service. 

Key responsibilities: 

1. To authenticate the genuineness of customers before making payments. 

2. To receive cash and verify the amount and genuineness of notes received in the presence of the customer before posting. 

3. To balance cash account alter day's work. 

4. Control and mitigate bank fraud in your work areas. 

5 To pay cash to the right customers within the authorized limit. 

6. To perform tellers duties with speed and accuracy. 

7. To surrender cash in hand to the custodians after closure of business. 

8. Cross selling of bank products to customers 

9. To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. 

Minimum Qualifications and Experience 

Required: Holder of Business related Degree with at least 1 year experience In the field. Experience in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System and knowledge of Bank products will be an advantage.

5. LOAN OFFICER (Five Positions)

Job Summary: 

The Loan Officer will be responsible for selling of bank products, recruiting customers, processing loans applications and managing loan portfolio while maintaining the good and quality customer service. 

Key responsibilities: 
1. To ensure high quality standards of the banks' lending businesses is always attained. 

2. Continuously promote the range of products offered by the Bank, especially the loan products through direct marketing (e.g. information session, direct contact to potential clients). 
3. Present and discuss the credit proposals with the Senior Credit Officer, 

4. Follow up on overdue loans and ensure recovery is done within the prescribed period. 

5. Prepare credit proposals of loan applications for necessary approval processes. 

6. Ensure that the collateral is formalized if necessary in cooperation with Legal unit and loan administrator. 

7. To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. Minimum 

Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Holder of Business related Degree with at least 1 year experience in the field. Experience in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System and knowledge of Bank products will be an added advantage.

6. BANK OFFICER (Three positions)

Job Summary: 

The Bank officer will be responsible for ensuring all day-to-day activities in the back office. 

Key Responsibilities: 

1. Posting of all payments including salary processing 

2. Reconciliations of general ledgers account 

3. To open new customer accounts by following the laid down account opening procedures. 

4. To scrutinize customer cheques, and other customer instruments presented for payment in order to ascertain their accuracy and authenticity before payment authorization/processing for clearing. 

5. To receive and send messages for trahsfer of funds.  

6. Handle customer's inquiries and complaint resolution. 

7. To file promptly various documents for future reference including customer account opening documents. 

8. To post vouchers and other transactions in the correct accounts with the correct amounts. 

9. To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor. Minimum 

Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Holder of Business related Degree with at least 1 year experience in the field. Experience in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System and knowledge of Bank products will be an added advantage.
