VACANCY: Occupational Therapist Moshi (Temporary position - Ref. 2016-9)

Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT) is a locally registered NGO first established in 1994. It is the largest indigenous provider of disability and rehabilitation services in the country. CCBRT aims to empower people with disabilities and their families, improve their quality of life, and ensure access to medical and rehabilitative treatment. Committed to preventing disabilities wherever possible, CCBRT is also engaged in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities and is currently constructing a Maternity and Newborn Hospital.
For our rehabilitation centre in Moshi, we are looking for an Occupational Therapist to fill a temporary vacancy up to 30th June 2016.
Responsibilities:
 Provision of Occupational Therapy services both at the rehabilitation centre as well in the community
 Supervision of a small group of community workers
 Provision of specialist services to special patient categories
 Perform any other duties related to the work as assigned by superior
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
 Diploma in Occupational Therapy - previous working experience is an advantage
 Obtained additional qualifications in various short courses eg. wheelchair service provision, clubfoot management or bobath therapy preferred
 Registration with TOTA preferred
 An advanced diploma in Occupational Therapy is an advantage
 Computer literate
 Fluency in Swahili and English

VACANCY: SENIOR REGISTERED NURSE MIDWIFE (Ref: 2016-12)

For our Maternal Health Capacity Building team we are looking for a Senior Registered Nurse Midwife who is passionate about the practical training of services providers on management of pregnant women.
Responsibilities include:
 Providing on-site mentoring, coaching and training in government facilities as support from CCBRT in the region
 Supporting the implementation of standard operating procedures and standard of high quality care
 Coordination and follow up of the capacity building activities with training institutions currently in the region
 Promoting scientific problem solving
 Relationship management: Maintaining the partnership and collaboration with relevant stakeholders (health professionals and medical professional organisations; and partners in the municipal and regional offices)
 Providing support towards training of staff for the coming up of CCBRT maternity and newborn hospital
 Developing policies, implementation plans and standard operation procedures for the future CCBRT maternity hospital
 Performing other assignments in professional duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
 BSc. in Nursing or Advanced Diploma in Midwifery Nursing
 Clinical expertise in normal and risk pregnancies as well as general nursing skills in paediatric or theatre
 Minimum 5 years working experience in training of health interventions in maternity, paediatrics and new born care
 Experience in curriculum development and Basic Health Education or BeMoNC is an added advantage
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills especially in Swahili and English

For our Maternal Health Capacity Building team we are looking for a dynamic Project Support Officer to further enhance the partnerships with the Regional Health Management Team and follow up on new interventions.
Responsibilities:
 Coordinating the implementation of new post-natal activities in the capacity building project
 Exploring the feasibility, acceptability and technological needs of health facilities to plan and implement a neonatal survival initiative
 Supporting procurement and finance activities in absence of project administrator and operations manager
 Finalising procedures for dissemination and closing activities
 Following up and reporting on ongoing infrastructural works
 Developing standard operation procedures for administrative works and other protocols needed
 Supporting the Programme Manager in report writing
 Performing any other duties as may be assigned by your immediate supervisor from time to time
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
 Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Development Studies or any other related field
 Knowledge on project management and administration is a requirement
 At least three years relevant working experience preferably in the Tanzanian health system
 Experience with donor requirements like log frames, project KPIs is an added advantage
 Good computer skills
 Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
 Ability to link business and community development related activities
 Good communication skills especially in English and Swahili - proficiency in writing reports is essential

VACANCY:HEAD OF OPHTHALMOLOGY PRIVATE SERVICES (Ref: 2016-16)

CCBRT operates a Private Clinic (PC) to ensure sustainable growth by providing cross subsidy services to marginalized people in the community.
The Head of Ophthalmology in the Private Clinic is a new position to support the organisational expansion of CCBRT’s private services, with focus on reaching annual and long-term financial and quality of care targets, and establish a well known and recognised private eye services.
Responsibilities:
 Lead and manage the new Private Ophthalmology Department; ensure continual quality improvement of work procedures and services are developed and implemented, ensure annual staff coaching, mentoring and training and ensuring development plans are developed and implemented; ensure quality of medical data
 In collaboration with PC Management, prepare, implement and monitor annual budget plan
 Be responsible to the PC management regarding the provision of excellent quality of care (OPD consultation, treatment and surgeries) and ensure guidelines/standard operating procedures/policies pertaining to patient care are in place
 Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of health professionals to provide excellent patient care; this also includes collaboration with other CCBRT departments
 Pro-actively contribute to the further strategising and marketing of the CCBRT Private Clinic
 Perform any other duty as assigned by the immediate supervisor
Required Experience, Skills and Competencies:
 Qualified medical professional with specialisation in ophthalmology and a minimum of 10 years of proven professional experience and 3 years experience in department management
 Qualification in hospital administration is an advantage
 Registered with Tanganyika Medical council as specialist
 Competent to perform all medical and invasive procedures relevant for the area of practice
 Critical thinking and a methodological approach to problem solving and decision making
 Excellent communication skills: proficient in English, Swahili is an added advantage
 Strong knowledge of administrative and logistic procedures
 Interpersonal skills: able to set clear standard for performance, evaluate job performance and provide effective feedback
