Executive Assistant (1 Post)

The Executive Assistant is primarily responsible to assist the EFC MD by providing various secretarial, administrative support and communication activities.
The main responsibilities are to:
 Support the Managing Director regarding activities related to the management of human, financial and material resources;
 Assist the Managing Director with the organization and follow-up of meetings;
 Contribute to the development and preservation of a collaborative team environment with all EFC personnel;
 Implement and manage a practical, efficient and functional document filing and management system;
 Perform secretarial tasks related to greeting of visitors, word processing and document management.
Qualifications & Requirements: (i.e. education, skills and experience)
The Executive Assistant should absolutely have good practical knowledge of administrative support functions in the financial services sector and the foresight to see how the related intricate day-to-day activities link with and support the achievement of the mission and vision of the EFC. In this regard, specific qualifications and requirements include:
 Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting;
 Minimum of over three (3) years related experience;
 Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Risk & Compliance Manager (1 Post)

The Risk & Compliance Manager is primarily responsible to ensure that EFC Tanzania is adhering to its Risk Management Policies and Framework and all Bank of Tanzania (BOT) and other compliance reporting / filing requirements (i.e. Companies Act, NGO Board, Business Licencing, Immigration, Anti-Money Laundering,etc.).
The main responsibilities are to:
 Establish and maintain expert working knowledge of the EFC Risk Management Policies and Framework together with Bank of Tanzania and other applicable regulatory body circulars, regulations and guidelines;
 Develop, implement and administer a compliance tracking and reporting program (i.e. activity plan and reporting tool) to ensure all such regulatory reporting / filing requirements are adhered to in a timely and accurate manner;
 Plan, organize, and control the day-to-day administrative compliance reporting / filing activities;
 Ensure that EFC policies and procedures respect all applicable regulatory body rules and regulations and propose revisions as deemed required;
 Monitor and report new developments relative to risk management and all applicable regulatory body regulation to:
o Keep EFC Senior Management apprised of such developments,
o Assess the effect they may have on EFC Tanzania,
o Provide suggestions on risk management / compliance with new/revised regulations and the drafting of EFC risk management / compliance policies and procedures;
 Collaborate with internal and external auditors relating to risk management and all applicable regulatory body compliance issues;
 Oversee and ensure appropriate follow-up and correction of deficiencies noted in the Internal Audit Reports (minor, moderate and major), External Audit Reports and Bank of Tanzania Examination Reports;
 Provide support and coaching as deemed appropriate to those employees responsible for specific risk management and compliance reporting requirements;
 Provide at minimum quarterly risk management and compliance reporting status reports to the Risk Management Committee (more frequently as deemed necessary);
 Support investigations when possible non-compliance issues occur;
 Act as primary liaison with EFC Company Secretary and legal advisors consulting with them as required on all matters of governance, risk management and compliance or other legal issues as instructed by the Managing Director;
 Performance of any other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Managing Director.
Qualifications & Requirements: (i.e. education, skills and experience)
The Risk & Compliance Manager should have good practical knowledge of microfinance best practices, corporate governance and Central Bank / other applicable regulatory body regulations and laws together with the foresight to see how the intricate day-to-day compliance activities link with and support the achievement of the vision and mission of the EFC. In this regard, specific qualifications and requirements include:
 At minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting, economics, law or business;
 At least three to five years of relevant experience in a financial institution;
 Good supervisory / people management and development skills;
 Good writing, documentation and presentation skills;
 Attention to detail and accuracy;
 Ability to meet deadlines for numerous compliance report / filing requirements;
 Ability to relate effectively across different levels of authority;
 Strong analytical, written/verbal communication (English / Kiswahili), interpersonal, and relationship building skills;
 Effective team player;
 Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Spreadsheet, etc.).

Branch Manager (1 Post)

The Branch Manager is primarily responsible to plan, organize and oversee all Branch operations including the supervision of staff and the coordination of work activities. The Branch Manager is also primarily responsible for promoting the EFC branding and raising community awareness regarding the products and services available to fulfill the target market needs.
The main responsibilities are to:
 Develop approaches and activities to maximize customer satisfaction, profitability of operations and risk management;
 Participate in the development of the Branch business and activities plan and oversee its implementation and follow-up;
 Analyse Branch performance relative to results achieved against the business plan (i.e. financial and product/service sales indicators);
 Ensure effective overall risk management (i.e. liquidity, credit, transaction, fraud, reputation and compliance) through effective implementation of all EFC policies, standards and procedures;
 Ensure effective overall management of Branch human, financial and material resources;
 Supervise all day-to-day Branch operations including daily and monthly closing activities;
 Submit quarterly Branch Performance Reports to the COO/DID Operations Advisor.
Qualifications & Requirements: (i.e. education, skills and experience)
The Branch Manager should have good practical knowledge of branch operations and human resource management in the financial services sector and the foresight to see how the intricate day-to-day activities link with and support the achievement of the mission and vision of the EFC. In this regard, specific qualifications and requirements include:
 A Diploma in Business Management, Economics or Management;
 A minimum of two years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services sector;
 Knowledge of microfinance specific to MSE markets would be a definite asset;
 Background in staff management including leadership, skills development and coaching;
 Strong people/relationship skills;
 Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Kiswahili.

Credit Manager - SME (1 Post)

The Credit Manager is primarily responsible to effectively identify, mitigate, and monitor risks in the EFC MSE credit operations. In addition, s/he leads and supports the marketing and sales of EFC products and services to MSE and contributes to the development and achievement of business plan objectives.
The main responsibilities are to:
 Plan and initiate strategies for portfolio development and recovery of loans;
 Conduct market surveys and identify new and viable markets for lending business;
 Initiate plans for recruitment, training and development of Credit Officers in accordance with growth in the credit portfolio and makes recommendations to the Managing Director;
 Support staff skill development with a focus on strong customer relationship and service quality orientation to facilitate the consultative sale of EFC products and services and the identification and exploitation of business opportunities (existing customers and prospects);

IT Officer (1 Post)

The IT Officer is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the EFC Head Office and Branch computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.
The main responsibilities will include:
 Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
 Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks;
 Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware and software faults;
 Replacing parts as required;
 Providing support, including procedural documentation;
 Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system;
 Supporting the roll-out of new applications;
 Setting up new users’ accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues;

 University Diploma in Computer Science, preferably in System Engineering;

 In depth technical knowledge of PC hardware;
